Well we’re back! It’s been awhile since we’ve posted any new content and we’re excited to share what we’ve been up to! José has been traveling non stop growing his international opera career. Herman bought a house and just added the newest addition to the Camplife family, a beautiful baby boy! But rest assured we are still here, and we’ve still been camping, backpacking, working on DIY gear, trying out new products, and we still plan on posting some fun and informative content for all of you outdoor enthusiasts.
We do have some exciting news to share. This past year, while performing in China, José discovered a small textiles manufacturer in the Jiangsu province. What started as a venture in sourcing fabric for our DIY projects slowly developed into a working relationship with the owners of the textiles company. They were curious why an opera singer in China was buying hundreds of yards of ripstop fabric. So on José’s next trip back, he showed them what he was making with their fabrics and introduced them to his DIY hammock. They realised that camping hammocks were an untapped market in chinese manufacturing and before we knew it, we had become hammock consultants. A year's worth of meetings, visits, and prototypes led to the development of the Onewind Camping Hammock, a small market product at a mass market price.
We will be doing an in depth review on the hammock soon, but in the meantime, we are proud to say that you can check out the camping hammock here on Amazon.
Our experience working with this Chinese manufacturer has been so unique, we can say that it’s unlike anything most Americans would expect to see. If you’re interested in hearing more about our journey into the textile manufacturing business, stay tuned to our camplifebros blog for the full story.
Thanks for sticking with us, and remember to get out there and Explore your Camplife.
